About Ish M.A

I’ve held every seat at the research site table: research assistant, patient recruiter, clinical research coordinator, senior CRC, and clinical trial specialist. I’m ACRP-CP certified and have spent over five years in clinical research working across therapeutic areas, under PIs who ranged from brilliant and engaged to absent and indifferent, at sites that ranged from world-class to duct-tape-and-prayers.

I wrote The Coordinator because the training gap in this industry is real. The certification exam teaches you the regulations. GCP training teaches you to sit through a PowerPoint. But the skills that determine whether you survive your first year or burn out by month eight — protocol fluency, patient recruitment, data discipline, systems thinking, scope management, professional relationship building — those you learn on the ground, the hard way, unless someone tells you first.

This book is that someone.

I’m also the creator of Clinical Research Question Bank, the exam prep platform designed specifically for the ACRP-CP certification. It’s the resource I wished existed when I was studying for the exam — so I built it.

If you have questions, want to share your own CRC story, or just want to connect, reach out. The clinical research community is smaller than you think, and the people in it are worth knowing.
